William E. Woltemade, (ca. 1916-1991), Architect
William E. Woltemade was born in Alton, Illinois, circa 1916. While attending the University of Nebraska, he was a member of the UNL band and a stadium employee. After college, he fought in the Army during World War II. He went on to work with Davis Fenton Stange Darling for thirty-four years. Woltemade was married to Alice. He was a Lifetime Big Red Booster, as well as a member of UNL Rebounders Club, City Golf Association, Extra Point Club, B.P.O.E., and American Legion Post 3. His leadership positions included president of the Extra Point Club (1970-1971) and chairman of the Nebraska State Elks Golf Committee (1980-1990). Woltemade died on October 12, 1991, at the age of 75.[2]
