Description: Lincoln High School, 1500 M Street, Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska. West elevation. Roberts & Bellangee, Architects. Harold H. Kesselring, delineator. Historic American Buildings Survey project NE-35-2. The upper part of the tower, as represented in this 1934 drawing, is a re-build of late 1891, after the city fire chief had condemned the tower as unsafe. The re-build followed somewhat more closely the design of the Roberts & Bellangee tower for the Nebraska Normal School bulding. Compare the 1934 tower both with the 1871 original, shown in this historic view, and with the Normal School tower, as seen in an exterior photograph of that building.
