Herman Nitchner was associated briefly with L. J. B. Bourgeois in Omaha and also with Bourgeois & H. C. Cooke in offering architectural services in Galveston, Texas. Except for a handful of mentions of Nitchner in these partnerships in 1890 and 1891, no further information on him has yet been found.[a]

Notes

a. "Bourgeois & Nitchner" are credited as architects for three Omaha projects mentioned in Omaha newspapers between November 26 and December 9, 1890. All three articles offer glowing descriptions of "A Mammoth Nine-Story Building," a "Handsome Hotel," and a "Handsome Residence," but only the hotel appears to have been built. In 1891, Nitchner is listed as an architect in the Omaha city directory, associated with Bourgeios, Nitchner & Cooke; and in the city directory of Galveston, Texas, with the same firm. The latter source adds that Nitchner resided in Omaha.[1][2][3]

Other than these five sources, nothing has been found about Nitchner in Nebraska or Galveston, Texas newspapers (through newspapers.com); orin any U. S. Census (or any other ancestry.com resource); as searched February 1, 2023.
