Robert Charles Dawson was born in Sioux City, Iowa on May 26, 1930.[2] In 1956, he earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Nebraska, where he had joined the fraternity Sigma Chi.[2][3] Dawson then went to work for Sargent, Websterm Crenshaw & Folley in Watertown, New York; he later worked in San Juan, Puerto Rico as a project architect for the firm.[3]
After moving back to Lincoln, Dawson became a founding partner of Hemphill, Vierk & Dawson, Architects. He retired from the firm in 2006.[3] Dawson died in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 26, 2014.[3]
