'''Eugene Allen Beam''' was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 8, 1934.[[#References|[1]]] He attended Creighton University for one year, ultimately receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Iowa State University five year later, in 1958.  The next year Beam worked for the firm [[Clark & Enersen, Architects|Clark & Enerson]] in Lincoln, eventually moving to [[Stanley J. Howe & Associates, Architects|Stanley J. Howe & Associates]] in Omaha from 1963-1966. 

From 1966-1970, Beam worked at the firm of [[James Michael Duffy (1927-____), Architect|James M. Duffy & Associates]] in Sioux City, Iowa, and in 1970 he took his last position as an associate at Dewild, Grant, Reckert & Associates Company, in the same city.
